AC Milan are back in the hunt for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi after missing out on two other midfield targets, a report claims.
As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport today (via Sempre Milan.it), the Rossoneri are having to have a rethink about how they want to bolster the midfield.
They have missed out on Renato Sanches who is set to join Paris Saint Germain from Lille, and Carney Chukwuemeka who is set to join Chelsea from Aston Villa.
A name from earlier in the campaign is now being looked at by Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.
Frattesi has seemed destined to leave Sassuolo this summer after being linked with the likes of Milan, Inter and Roma. The €35 million price tag that Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has put on the Italian’s head.
It is believed that Milan do not want to spend any more than €15 million on a new midfielder this summer which could put an end to that negotiation straight away.
Italian media has zero knowledge of what players is Milan targeting so every day they just throw a different name and hoped that one of them will stick.
Frattesi price is higher than CDK.
Roma has a 50% resale clause on him and could have gotten him for half his price but they still couldn’t agree with Sassuolo. So end up going with Wijnaldum.

This guy total operations would surpass sanchez total proration, and Sanchez is better than this guy, have cl experience, if milan won’t push for sanchez why would milan going for this guy

This. It is exactly what I thought as Inter was wrapping up the signing. And we have the budget because he cost exactly 15m. Meanwhile Bennacer has 2 years left on his contract and is asking for 5-6m to renew. Asllani would have made a great replacement coming in this season, getting some experience off the bench and starting a few games and then pairing up with Tonali next season. But let’s not write off Pobega. I think he will surprise us this season in the double pivot.

Not worth it re Sanches. Sanches is an injury risk and PSG can afford to park 4.5m per year in the treatment room for half a season. We can’t. He obviously really wanted PSG too. I’m not to worried about this “loss”.

Missing out on Sanchez is a disaster, there is no midfeilder out there that is 15m unless we want to get another hit or miss, Sanchez would have been perfect but we wasted all our funds on CDK……he better be that good because this team needs Sanchez more than him, we can not go into next season using
It wasn’t about the transfer fee. We already had an agreement in place with Lille. It was about the salary. We offered 3m, PSG offered 4.5m. Plus PSG is now almost guaranteed to reach the CL semis every year, so there’s that. I agree with M&M that our offer should not have matched PSG’s. Sanches is an injury risk, and PSG can afford that risk. We can’t. End of story with Sanches. Next.
