Schira: Defensive outcast set to leave Milan as Genoa initiate contacts – the latest

By Isak Möller -

Milan’s transfer market is in full swing as Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been working on several fronts lately. In addition to reinforcing the squad, they also want to get rid of a few players, including Andrea Conti.

The right-back will return to Milanello after Parma didn’t exercise the buy-out option in his contract, which would’ve been an obligation if they had stayed up. Therefore, Milan will have to find a new club for the 27-year-old this summer.

According to Nicolo Schira, Conti could end up at Genoa as they have put the defender at the top of their wish list. Talks are ongoing between Milan and the Rossoblu to see if a transfer is feasible, though it most likely will be.

Conti isn’t in the Rossoneri’s plans and they will be looking to reinvest whatever they will get for the former Atalanta man. The transfer fee will probably be somewhere around €7m, or less.

  1. Probably less than €6M would be my guess. Laxalt only fetched €4.5M and he was playing regularly for Celtic. If Maldini and Massara are offered anything above €5M they should run with it!
