AC Milan legend Andriy Shevchenko has revealed that he dreams of returning to the club as manager one day.

The current head coach of the Ukraine national team, Shevchenko made 321 appearances for the Rossoneri, scoring 174 goals and winning five major trophies.

Since 2016 he has managed his country in 25 games, winning 13 of them and losing just five – and a return to San Siro is not far from his mind.

“Milan are a club that’s a part of my life,” he told DAZN.

“However, I’m busy with the Ukrainian national team right now and Gattuso is already doing a great job.

“Certainly I’d like to coach Milan one day because I’m very attached to them, the fans and my former teammates.

“Maybe it’ll be my turn to coach Milan one day.”
