Sky: Calhanoglu set to ‘re-evaluate’ Milan’s offer after failing to impress at Euros

By Isak Möller -

Hakan Calhanoglu is yet to respond to Milan’s renewal offer that was made towards the end of this past season. It seems he was waiting for the Euros to take place but perhaps now he wishes he hadn’t.

In addition to upsetting the fans by waiting so long, the No.10 is no longer on the best of terms with the Rossoneri management. And the plan to wait hasn’t exactly played in his favour, seeing as the Euros has been a fiasco for Turkey.

Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Manuele Baiocchini shared the latest updates on the future of Calhanoglu. As you would expect, the playmaker is not set to re-evaluate the Rossoneri’s contract offer.

“We’re still waiting. Tomorrow could be Turkey’s last match at the Euros and Calhanoglu was hoping to play well to convince some teams to bet on him. It hasn’t been an extraordinary tournament for him and Turkey.

“The considerations that Calhanoglu and his agent made could now be re-evaluated, including the offer Milan put forward before the end of this past season,” he stated.

As said, it hasn’t worked out at all for the former Bayer Leverkusen to wait until after the Euros, which was always going to be a dangerous game. He’s lucky Milan didn’t pull their offer earlier, because then it would’ve been a different story.

    1. Even less. If other clubs do not want him, why should we? I would rather watch a youngster playing for the club, rather than him playing for the money.

  1. This is all Pioli. He is the one insisting with the turk. if Pioli didn’t venerate him that much we could’ve seen other players fill the spot more often during the season. But no, because of Pioli’s stuborness we will revew on his terms. (4 mil *5 years = 20 mil net) Because of this deal we will not have the money to buy tonali. What a shame

    1. I agree he is not that good, but let’s be honest he is better that Tonali. If Tonali wasn’t Italian he would get much less media hype.

  2. I hope Milan pull a Maignan on him soon. This is one player that Milan has to offload if they want progress in that team. His play has plateaued and now stagnant. Only that replacements for that position seem few and far between.

  3. I say, allow calhanoglu to leave. Agent offered him to inter to make milan agree to their terms. But i sense its a ploy. Hakan should go. Free up money to sign Tonali permanently and add right winger.

  4. I rather Krunic play in his role than waste 20Million net on Hakan.

Fans would have been sympathetic to Hakan if he showed Loyalty to Milan.

    Hakan should just leave
