Sky: Gattuso sends squad into training retreat as Bakayoko arrives late

Per Sky Italia, AC Milan have been sent to a five-day training retreat after loanee Bakayoko showed up an hour late for training this morning. He was only able to train with the team for the final 10 minutes of the training session.

Gattuso made the final decision, despite pleas from the team to change his mind. The camp will last from Thursday to Monday, when AC Milan face off against Bologna in their next Serie A match.

Bakayoko is currently on loan at the club and has a €35m option on his loan, if AC Milan decide that they want to keep the Chelsea midfielder. As of right now, that option may well be at risk, and Bakayoko is expected to be given a hefty fine for being late to this mornings training.

Hopefully, the team can stay in a positive mindset as they only have four games left this season and they sit two points out of the Champions League zone. Sky Italia also added that the retreat wasn’t just Bakayoko’s fault, but rather the last straw.
