Sky: Giampaolo ‘confronts’ Paqueta over Instagram story at training

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Marco Giampaolo reportedly ‘confronted’ midfielder Lucas Paqueta about his recent Instagram story in training on Tuesday.

There have been rumbles of discontent between Giampaolo and Paqueta, with a report from Calciomercato.com earlier in the month stating that there are parts of the Brazilian’s game which ‘angered’ his boss.

Giampaolo also told DAZN (via Football Italia) after the game against Brescia that Paqueta ‘needs to be a little less Brazilian at times’ in reference to his style of play.

The former Flamengo man then seemingly hit back on social media, posting an Instagram story stating that he is ‘proud to be Brazilian’ seemingly in reference to the earlier comments from his head coach.

That came after Paqueta had played the first half away at Hellas Verona on Sunday but was hauled off in favour of new signing Ante Rebic.

According to Sky Italia – as cited by MilanNews – Giampaolo spoke in private with Paqueta about the post on Instagram.

The report adds that Giampaolo made the midfielder aware that his comments in the media are only because he wishes to turn him into a complete player and one who is fixed in the starting XI.
