Sky: Ibrahimovic on bench for Milan vs. SPAL; last chance for €30m Spurs target to impress?

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will stick with a 4-4-2 formation as the Rossoneri welcome SPAL in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia, a report claims.

Milan will be looking to secure their passage into the final eight of the cup once again on Wednesday night, which would make it an 11th season in a row, and you can read our match preview here.

Pioli has a number of injury issues to deal with as Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to miss the game with a small thigh issue –with older brother Antonio set to start between the sticks.

In other injury news, Davide Calabria has a right ankle sprain, Mateo Musacchio has a left ankle contusion – which means Simon Kjaer could get his first start – and Hakan Calhanoglu will miss out with a problem in his right calf.

According to Sky Italia – as cited by MilanNews.it – one of the few battles for a place in the starting XI has been resolved.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will start from the bench but the Milan boss will stick with a two-striker formation, meaning Krzysztof Piatek will have a chance to impress.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier today that the Diavolo have made it clear the Poland international can leave if an offer of €30m+ arrives, with Spurs and West Ham among four interested clubs.
