Sky journalist confirms Ibrahimovic will not start: “No more than 15-20 minutes”

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has recovered from the injury he sustained back in November, just about. The Swede was included in the squad for tonight’s clash against Torino, but he won’t play from the first minute.

The 39-year-old sustained an injury in the game against Napoli in November and has since missed eleven games for the Rossoneri. His return, especially considering the injury crisis, is very important for the team and morale.

Sky Italia reporter Peppe Di Stefano, as cited by MilanNews, was asked about Ibrahimovic’s condition ahead of tonight’s game. He confirmed what was expected, also adding how many minutes the striker has in him.

“Right now, the presence of Ibrahimovic helps motivate the team. How many minutes does Ibrahimovic have? Probably no more than 15-20 minutes. The Swede will only be used if the match requires it, otherwise he’s likely to remain on the bench.”

Hakan Calhanoglu also made a swift recovery, sustaining a minor injury in the game against Juventus. Just like Ibrahimovic, though, he won’t play from start and will only be used if Stefano Pioli feels there is the need.

“For Calhanoglu, it was forced. Seen yesterday, the player was walking with difficulty. He’s on the bench because he could be useful if they really need him.”
