Sky: Milan make new contacts with Rangnick; Emery and Marcelino the alternatives

By Isak Möller -

After yet another disappointing season, at least so far, AC Milan are heading for a squad overhaul this summer. In addition to a majority of the players, Stefano Pioli is also at risk, with Ralf Rangnick in pole to replace him.

According to Sky Italia’s Peppe Di Stefano (via MilanNews.it), the chances of seeing Pioli on the bench next season are slim. The new revolution, as he describes it, started with the sacking of Zvone Boban and it remains to be seen what the next step will be.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara could both leave the club, per the reporter. Next season, the opinions of Hendrik Almstadt (Ivan Gazidis’ trusted man) and chief scout Geoffrey Moncada will be of great importance.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri have made new contacts with Ralf Rangnick, who remains the first choice for the bench. The second idea is Marcelino and the third is Unai Emery. The latter left Arsenal in 2019, a club that the Singer family is close to.
