Sky: Milan put negotiations with Barcelona on hold as defender prefers to stay

By Isak Möller -

Having already secured three players this transfer window, namely Soualiho Meite, Mario Mandzukic and Fikayo Tomori, there could yet be more for Milan. With no real alternative for the left-back position, a player could arrive.

In the last few days, Barcelona degender Junior Firpo has been linked with the Rossoneri. As our correspondent Pietro Balzano Prota described it, the negotiations are difficult even though the clubs are indeed in contact about it.

According to Di Marzio (via MilanNews), speaking live on Sky Italia this evening, there is currently a phase of reflection in the negotiations. The left-back doesn’t have a great desire to move also because as he recently became a father.

In the coming days, the parties will discuss the matter again and it remains to be seen what direction they will take. Meanwhile, Milan are preparing to take on Atalanta on Saturday evening, which will be an important game for them.
