Sky: Milan could sell Saelemaekers to make space amid Messias agreement

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are more or less expected to sign a right-winger this summer and after reaching an agreement with Crotone over Junior Messias, Alexis Saelemaekers might be sacrificed. The news coming out of Italy this evening.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara were able to obtain a discount on Messias, as reported by Sky Italia (via MilanNews), and that also means the Brazilian will stay. Another signing on the right is still expected, which poses a problem.

In fact, as per the report, Saelemaekers could be sold this summer if an interesting offer arrives, seeing as having three right-wingers would be unnecessary. A lot most likely depends on the other signings Milan will make.

The Rossoneri have also been heavily linked with Charles De Ketelaere, but he would be a signing for the No.10 role. Therefore, it remains to be seen if Maldini and Massara will invest anything on the right (given the budget of €100m, read more here).

  1. It is bad policy to sell Alex Salameakears
Sell J Messiess instead of Alex S.
He is both R W or R Defender
    He is also young energatic

    1. There is a difference of 10M~15M between Messias and Salemarkers
Investing that money in starting members is not a bad choice.

  2. I don’t mind selling Saele if we go for a truw RW talent (I personally prefer Antony for the potential all star or Berardi for consistency and quality as long as price can be lowered of course).

If we are not going to invest in RW then I would keep Saele and not sign Messias and look to pick up Politano for cheap (10m or less). Would be a good option if we aren’t going to spend on a RW.

  3. selling a 20m value player (saelemakers) and replacing him with 4m value player (messias) is a bad decision imo, I really hope we flip messias to another club for profit, get top RW player in (Antony over berardi any day of the week) and keep Saelemakers to bring on when we need to hold on for a win in the last 15-20 min of a game. Either way we need a starting RW that can deliver and Messias or Saelemakers has to be the backup.

    1. The two players are completely different players. Totally opposite characteristics and therefore different prices. What Milan needs is an attacking RW. Saelemaekers isn’t one. And for a defending RW we already got Florenzi too.

It’s a no-brainer who to keep and who to sell.

  4. Smart decision. Both didn’t have a great season. But overall Messiah had some bright moments and goals which put him in a higher place in terms of contribution.

Neither should be a first team player. So it makes sense to sell the one that is more expensive.

  5. AS has unfortunately been useless. As a winger he is no threat in 1v1,that means he really doesn’t provide good service centrally.Has not scored a goal in forever, nor has he given important assists. Hard worker, tenacious, fair enough but needs to be more dangerous as a winger. Simply, does not cut it.
