Sky: Pioli has four battles to decide for Milan’s starting XI against Bologna

By Isak Möller -

On Monday evening, AC Milan will face Bologna in the 31st round of Serie A. It’s yet another crucial game for the Rossoneri as they look to cement their spot at the top of the standings.

Stefano Pioli has a few positions to decide for the game, scheduled for 20:45 CEST, given that the international break just came to an end. Some have been out on international duty, while others have been able to ‘rest’ at Milanello.

According to Sky Italia, via FMCR, there are four positions that the manager needs to settle for the XI: Romagnoli or Kalulu (CB), Kessie or Brahim Diaz (CAM), Leao or Rebic (LW) and Giroud or Ibrahimovic (CF).

The feeling is that Kalulu, Kessie, Rebic and Giroud are the favourites to start but it’s not certain. Giroud, for example, played a lot with France during the break while Ibrahimovic only played a few minutes for Sweden.

  1. One aspect of a player that is rarely mentioned is the “threat” that they present, basically do they have the ability to single handed win the game, carry the team on their back, when the team is down emotionally and score wise. Start Ibra, Giroud needs the rest, no harm there, Start Romo, with Kalulu finishing the second 45, Kessie, first then Diaz off the bench when the defense is a little wary, that is when he has been proven to be effective. I can’t wait !!!! Forza Milan
