Sky: Spalletti must resolve with Inter quickly or Milan may move to other targets

By Oliver Fisher -

The resolution of the contract between Luciano Spalletti and Inter must occur on Tuesday or Milan may move to a new target, a report claims.

Vito Angele confirmed to us earlier in on Monday that the Rossoneri have made the decision to sack head coach Marco Giampaolo.

Prior to Saturday’s win over Genoa – a narrow victory against a team also in crisis – Milan had lost four of their first six games to start the season for the first time in 81 years.

Angele also revealed that Spalletti is the first choice to replace him, but he is contracted at former club Inter until 2021 which must first be terminated in order for him to join.

However, the green light then arrived as both Angele and Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed that Spalletti likes Milan’s project and is ready to join the Rossoneri on a three-year deal.

According to Sky Italia‘s Manuele Baiocchini (via MilanNews.it), the situation between Spalletti and Inter will have to be resolved by Tuesday.

This is because Milan do not want to wait long to get their new coach in place, especially with valuable time over the international break.

If it is not resolves, the Diavolo could go for an alternative like Stefano Pioli, the report adds.
