Sky: Theo Hernandez and Brahim Diaz still Covid-positive and will miss Bologna game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will definitely be without Theo Hernandez and Brahim Diaz as they are both still testing positive for COVID-19, a report claims.

Late last week it was confirmed by the club that Theo Hernandez had contracted the virus while on international duty with France at the Nations League, and two days later on the night before the hope game against Hellas Verona Brahim Diaz registered a positive test too.

According to the latest from Sky Italia on Twitter, the two players were tested today and are still positive, which means that they will not be available for Saturday’s game against Bologna at the Stadio Renato dall’Ara.

This means that Pioli will be left to choose between either Daniel Maldini or Rade Krunic for the playmaker role while it is likely that Fode Ballo-Toure or Davide Calabria will be deployed on the left side of the defence again.

  1. Without these two, why doesn’t Mr. Pioli try a 4-3-3?
Tatarusanu; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Toure; Kessie, Tonali, Bennacer; Alexis, Ibra, Leao

    1. Rotation is needed to preserve energy, and changing so many players and also formation is a gamble. 9 of the players you mentrion have played just 2 days ago, and the next match after Bologna is in 5 days. Following your idea we would win for sure against Bologna but we would have to play with the second 11 the following game.

  2. Does anyone know how long the obligatory quarantine is for them? It should end these days, after cca 10 days of being isolated, no matter whether the test is positive or not, no?
