SM: Milan’s probable XI to face Inter – Saelemaekers on the left

AC Milan will face Inter in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday. Stefano Pioli already has a good idea of which players will be in the starting XI, with the only doubt being Rafael Leao.

Leao sustained an injury in this past weekend’s clash against Lazio and although it’s a minor one, he might not make it back in time. The favourite to replace him, as things stand, is Alexis Saelemaekers just like we saw against Lazio.

Other than that, it should be the ‘usual’ Champions League eleven for the Rossoneri. This means that the likes of Simon Kjaer, Rade Krunic, Brahim Diaz and Olivier Giroud will be playing from start.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Hernandez; Krunic, Tonali; Diaz, Bennacer, Saelemaekers; Giroud.

Junior Messias has done well lately but since he played the full game last time out, and Brahim Diaz was rested, the Spaniard is the clear favourite to start on the right. The Champions League has also been his natural habitat this season.

      1. I’d prefer it this way honestly. We do not play well in possession. Let Inter come out guns blazing like Napoli did and maybe we can pip a cheeky 1-0.
