CM: Spezia and Bologna are working to sign Milan defender

By Euan Burns -

Both Spezia and Bologna are working hard to try and sign Mattia Caldara from AC Milan this summer, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, two different Serie A clubs are keen to bring Rossoneri defender Caldara to their squad this summer as he is destined to part ways with the champions.

Caldara spent last season on loan at Venezia but in his 31 appearances, he was not able to do enough to stop the Arancioneroverdi from being sent back down to Serie B at the first opportunity.

He has been on the books at Milan since 2018 but has spent almost the entire time on loan at other teams.

He now looks set to depart permanently for either Bologna or Spezia. He is in training with the rest of the Milan squad right now but his bags are effectively already packed as it is a forgone conclusion that he will be sold shortly.

  1. I would pay money out of my own pocket to Bologna or Spezia to take Caldara, just take him please 😂

    1. Just put him a season in Romagnoli’s place so we don’t need to sign a new Italian player just to fill the homegrown quota.

  2. Why not just keep him. He’s a decent backup and is italian and does not have a high salary and is not old. This literally makes no sense… what ae we going to do? Sell for less than 5m??….
