Spezia are now the team leading the way to sign Daniel Maldini on loan from AC Milan this summer, a report claims.
As has been reported by TMW today, the young Italian could find himself in Liguria playing under Gabriele Cioffi next season.
For a while it seemed that the winger would be on his way to Hellas Verona but since they signed Andrea Cortinovis from Atalanta, the negotiations between the Gialloblu and Milan have cooled down a lot.
That has put Spezia back into pole position to make Paolo Maldini’s son a part of their squad for the upcoming campaign.
Maldini spent 10 years coming through the youth setup with the Rossoneri and made 15 appearances for the first team under Stefano Pioli. It is clear that he would benefit a lot from a loan move where he can get regular football, having never been out on loan before in his career.
