Spezia upset ends goalscoring run after 419 days of away success for Milan

By Isak Möller -

Milan failed to beat Spezia last night as the latter outplayed the league leaders, neutralising them in every way possible. A frustrating night for the Rossoneri and their fans, therefore, to say the least.

The Rossoneri were the clear favourites heading into the game, facing the league’s weakest side in home games. However, things certainly didn’t go to plan and many can be blamed for the outcome of the game, from the managerial staff to the players.

After 419 days, as highlighted by MilanNews, Milan’s goalscoring run in away games came to an end. Since the humiliating 0-5 loss to Atalanta, the Rossoneri had found the back of the net in every away game, only for it to end with another humiliating loss.

It will be necessary to recharge the batteries as an important week awaits, with the Europa League clash against Red Star Belgrade mid-week and the Milan derby at the weekend. The latter game will be absolutely crucial in the Scudetto race.
