Sportitalia: Fiorentina enquire about signing €35m Milan outcast before window shuts

By Oliver Fisher -

Fiorentina have made an enquiry about signing midfielder Lucas Paqueta from Milan before the transfer window shuts, a report claims.

Paqueta was not called up by head coach Stefano Pioli for Friday’s trip to face Brescia, and Sky Italia reported that it was actually at the request of the Brazil international. He was back in the squad for Tuesday’s 4-2 win over Torino in the Coppa Italia, but was an unused sub through 120 minutes of action (including extra time).

Vito Angele confirmed in a recent exclusive for us that PSG have so far only offered €20m for Paqueta despite Leonardo being keen to reunite with his compatriot, while the chances of swap deal involving Federico Bernardeschi appears to be over.

According to Sportitalia – as cited by MilanNews.it – Fiorentina asked Milan about their chances of signing Paqueta before the window shuts at 8pm CET on Friday.

The Rossoneri will give their answer in the next few hours, the report claims, with the knowledge that they paid €35m to sign him from Flamengo 12 months ago.
