Franck Kessie is perhaps the best player in Milan’s current squad and since his contract will expire in 2022, work is underway on the renewal. However, given his importance, the negotiations haven’t been easy.
According to the latest reports from SportItalia, as cited by MilanNews, there is distance between the two parties. Milan are believed to be about €1m away from the demands that Kessie and his agent have presented during the meetings.
There are several teams interested in the midfielder and, therefore, the situation is still risky for the Rossoneri. Premier League teams have the ability to offer a very good salary and this could tempt the Ivborian to pack his bags.
So for Milan, the renewal is an absolute priority although they are slowly running out of time, per the report. Hopefully, it won’t be another Donnarumma-esque situation, or Calhanoglu-esque for that matter, as the Rossoneri need Kessie.
