Suso hasn’t had the best of starts to this season, failing to live up to the expectations set after the last campaign. In an interview with Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it), the Spaniard revealed his Champions League desire.
Milan are currently sitting in 14th place, claiming just 13 points in 12 games. In other words, they are far from a top-four finish, which was the goal set ahead of the season. For Suso, the competition is a must, given that he is already 26.
“It’s a dream, I’m 26-years-old and I haven’t played it yet. All the strong players are in the Champions League, a club like Milan must be there. It’s something that I would like a lot,” he stated.
It remains to be seen if the Rossoneri can turn things around, but it’s safe to say that there hasn’t been a great amount of change under new manager Stefano Pioli. After a positive display against Juventus, though, there is some hope.
On Saturday evening, Milan will take on Napoli at the San Siro, and Suso is expected to play from start as usual. Given that both sides are struggling, it could be an even encounter.
