Igli Tare plans to meet with the entourage of Santiago Gimenez to discuss the plans for the future, according to a report.
Gimenez was the marquee signing of the most recent winter transfer window, with Milan shelling out €32m plus €3m in bonuses to snatch him from Feyenoord. It was a significant investment that only partially paid off on the pitch with six goals and three assists.

At certain points he found himself behind Luka Jovic and Tammy Abraham in the pecking order, two forwards who will not be part of Massimiliano Allegri’s Milan due to their respective expiring contract and loan deals.
Gimenez in discussion
Calciomercato.com report that the reboot in the centre-forward area does not necessarily stop at Gimenez. An exit would be quite a statement, considering that he arrived at Milan only six months after a year-long courtship and with a big economic investment.

However, the Mexican must work even harder to gain the trust of Tare and Allegri. The rumours talk about Milan being engaged in the search for an international level striker, a starter like Dusan Vlahovic or Mateo Retegui.
Those two are certainly difficult to get, but Tare’s attempts are real and concrete. At the moment, nothing or almost nothing is filtering out from the club about Gimenez, much less the idea of trying to put him on the market to raise money.
In the next few days Tare will have a meeting with agent Rafaela Pimenta and Santi’s father, Christian, to take stock of the situation. The new Milan sporting director wants to understand what the intentions and thoughts of the former Feyenoord player’s entourage are.

6 goals and 3 assists for a team in shambles and for mostly coming on as a sub are not bad stats. I think we should keep him. I hope Allegri can relaunch him.
The problem is that they didnt buy him and thats the problem, they want to be sure and Allegri is a bit of a problem when it comes to strikers, sometimes i think he has not a clear idea of what he needs and what he wants. I would keep Giminez for the work rate and discipline he brings and he is a good human being.
Useless management
Is this even serious? Look at the goal/minutes Gimenez is not bad at all. Actually he has been doing good. The investment should be made to the midfield. Not striker. Sometimes I really faint why the management keep failing to identify the real problem.
Keep him, obviously, and regularly pair him with Camarda for football’s sake ‼️
😏 Clown management
Longo, Vitello and Pelegati will not rest until all the players bought last season are gone. Milan does not have half of the defense, there are no midfield players, but Milan needs a striker and? There is a campaign against Gimenez – they say he didn’t show up. The statistics deny them: in Serie A 670 minutes, 5 goals and 2 assists, which means a goal every 134 minutes. Vlahović, who is loved by Allegri, scored 175 minutes, and he knows the league and played 1750 minutes. Why are they doing this?
The media works hard to paint Milan in the poorest light
Or is what I stated. Or they convey wishes to Allegra to prepare the fans. To fulfill Allegra’s every wish, at the expense of the club, in order to reach the 4th place. In order to achieve that, it is necessary to bring Juventus players.
The media are in charge of decisions at Milan now? Are they responsible for the past two years of atrocity in transfers, staff hirings, players’ management and sporting results? This Milan doesn’t need anyone to look ridiculous.
Journalists create scandals and a bad atmosphere. Are you saying they have no influence? 🙂 If you think so, then you are mistaken. Otherwise, I reluctantly have to admit that I agree with you for the first time. Milan is a joke of a club. Doom. Allegri 🤦
Bro this is my job to work with PR and media, I don’t think I’m mistaken. That’s a big topic but maybe you’re from a country where the media have been criticized by those who have the power because it doesn’t suit their agenda, like say USA, Italy or France and many more countries these days. The role of media is to report. When there is a feud between Zlatan and Furlani for « I’m the boss », when Jerry says « winning is boring », when Fonseca benches Théo and Leao and they react, when Conceicao fights with Calabria, when the stadium project is a mess, when Futuro is a mess, when recruits are poor, when Milan is 8th and loses in Coppa Italia final, they only report.
Media in Italy have been very nice with redbird at the beginning, praising the American model, the revolution at Milan. Now everybody, media or not, can witness that’s it’s not going well at the club.
And then the media write that an Italian coach is needed and that Allegri is the right choice, and then Allegri really comes. Then they write that Allegri wants scraps from Juventus, then I believe that is so. He screwed us once with Pirlo and Matri and now they should screw us again. He doesn’t like Gimenez?? So which striker scored goals for him? Ibra and Ronaldo, because they are non-series players. We don’t have a defense, we don’t have a middle, but we are filled with attackers, who cares about that??
The media write that Milan needs more Italians and players from Serie A because obviously Milan recruited mostly guys from abroad recently and it didn’t work. The fans and former football legends think the same. Almost every recruit has to adapt to the league and it’s a waste of time.
But that’s the job of PR to make people think that the problem comes from outside so I guess they’re doing a good job at that somehow 😉
I have nothing against Milan buying Italians, but I don’t see who they are? Comuzo 40 million, Ricci 30 million, Ravela over 40 million, Retegui over 40 million … Is even one of these worth that money?
This is absolutely correct. And to add, Gimenez has the highest per 90 in the team this season for goals scored and overall goal contributions (incl assists).
I’m not a fan of his as I’d like to see more of him but the numbers are promising when you dig down. Plus it’s his first year in Serie A. Players need time to bed in and get accustomed to the league and level but our s.tu.pid management doesn’t understand this.
Get ready to meet mexicans Tare, jajajaja. Americans know from the last week of riots what to expect
the management is noobie
Tare just arrived and is new. This has nothing to do with him at this point. He doesn’t know what’s going on, but he will see!
