Tassotti believes Ibrahimovic lacks experience and that his ‘tasks are not very clear’

Mauro Tassotti believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic might be lacking some of the experience needed to be a director at AC Milan, and that he must be ready to face criticism.

Yesterday’s game against Genoa brought about the first public signs that the Milan fans are not happy with Ibrahimovic. When he was shown on the big screen at San Siro, there was a smattering of jeers aimed at the Swede.

Gerry Cardinale, the founder and No.1 of RedBird Capital, brought Ibrahimovic back to Milan one year ago, entrusting him with a Senior Advisor role. It may be a vague job title but it is an all-encompassing position, with a wide range of influence and also media responsibilities.

Tassotti spoke about Ibrahimovic and the criticism he received from fans during an interview with Radio Anch’io Sport, with his comments relayed by MilanPress.

“Being a player is one thing, being a director is another, especially with those responsibilities, even if his tasks are not very clear,” he said.

“It takes a bit of experience, which Ibra doesn’t have. He’s getting the hang of it, maybe he’ll make some mistakes. And then the results have to help you, even Galliani and Braida, when the results didn’t come, were contested.”

  1. Cardy should sack everyone to save face, then maybe sack himself.
Milan are floundering in 8th position on the ladder and under this management I don’t believe they will lift!
They struggled to buy quality in the transfer market prior and will struggle again in the winter transfer market. So what will Abrah pull out of his magical hat ?
Tassotti speaks the truth that no one in Milan club has balls to admit. Fonzi should go now before the Verona game!

  2. I remember ibra posting 433. Every time Milan trys to play 433.. it will fail big time. Get back to Milan classic twin striker. A lone striker doesn’t suit Milan

    1. Yep. None of the Milan strikers can manage by themselves. Switching to 2 strikers could be a problem as there are too few strikers though. But still I’d prefer 2 over 1 any day.

    2. The problem though is unless you’re suggesting a 4-4-2, any other 2 striking system won’t work with us because 2 of our most importants players (Leao and Pulisic) are wingers.

      1. Pulisic already defends now as much as he would in 4-4-2 and Leao wouldn’t defend more whether he were a few steps lower in the formation anyway so that wouldn’t change much. Just a cosmetic change regarding the wingers. The real change would come from the center of the pitch – and by not having a #10 (which we lack anyway).

Now the lonely striker gets waaaay to much involved in playmaking (due to not having a proper #10) and there is no one in the box. 2 strikers would fix that. Camarda would also benefit from that by having a bit more space.

        1. And also… Musah has been the RW. His contribution there is zero. Or even “minus something”. So if we’re happy to have a winger with zero contribution, why would Pulisic a few steps lower be an issue? He’d still be up there when we attack. Same applies to Leao.

Or if you insist, switch to 4-2-4 or even 3-3-4 then. Don’t do anything with the wingers but adjust every other position. It’s not like our midfield has been working anyway.
