CM: Two Milan stars suffering from after-effects of Covid as they struggle to find rhythm

By Oliver Fisher -

The recent struggles of Brahim Diaz and Theo Hernandez are a sign of how hard it can be to get back in condition after ‘recovering’ from Covid, a report has claimed.

The Rossoneri were pretty poor from a physical and mental point of view during yesterday’s defeat against Sassuolo and Calciomercato.com writes how Theo Hernandez and Brahim Diaz are two exemplary cases from the game as the former struggled to contain Berardi and Frattesi, while the latter was easily nullified by Maxime Lopez.

The after-effects of Covid are somewhat to blame for this because it caused the former Real Madrid duo to stop at their best moment. Both players are absolutely essential for their technical and athletic characteristics and in many ways the rhythm of Milan’s performances often depends on whether or not they are up to speed.

The hectic schedule and the number of games in close proximity – coupled with the lack of a true quality back-up at left-back and playmaker – certainly does not help both players to find their best physical condition. There is not even time to rest or reflect because on Wednesday they will be back on the pitch in Marassi against Genoa, and an important contribution from Diaz and Hernandez is needed.
