Thiago Motta says Milan loanee Kalulu has ‘integrated well’ at Juventus

By Isak Möller -

Pierre Kalulu’s move to Juventus was made official on Wednesday and since then, he has been working with his new teammates in training. Speaking at his press conference, the manager Thiago Motta spoke well of the Frenchman.

Due to the squad rules, and the signing of Emerson Royal, Milan decided to part ways with Kalulu this summer. An agreement was reached with Juventus and after some reflection on the player’s end, the deal materialised.

Given the figures of the deal, many Milan fans have been annoyed with the signing and perhaps that will be fueled by Thiago Motta’s words. During his press conference ahead of the Hellas Verona clash tomorrow, Motta seemed very optimistic about Kalulu’s qualities.

“Kalulu is physically well, he has integrated well into the group and at Milan he has shown that he can play both as a central defender and as a full-back. We are working well on the market to create a competitive team, for the rest we are only thinking about Hellas Verona,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if the €14m buy-out clause will be triggered at the end of the season, and whether Kalulu will be able to revive his career. He was crucial during the Scudetto campaign but has been struggling since.

  1. much better then emerson and less salary for sure. Not sure who exactly has the lead in milano, but having morata instead of zirkzee is not helpful. Also my favourite player kalulu is now gone. Have seen bony yesterday? any question what is needed in modern teams?
finally, if roma gets danso, they did 100% better then milan in summer mercato…

  2. This is where I can see Ibra has no clue what he is doing. And Furlani. Get rid of Kalulu for Emerson. He didn’t have 2 good games at Tottenham, Milan is somehow paying more for him than Kalulu was sold for and he has higher wages. Top move. At this point I think Ibrahimovic should stop babbling around on tv like he actually knows how to do the job. Full of crap, it worked on the field but management is a different job. Ideally he would be the first to pack his bags and once that happens Fonseca will be ready to leave anyway. There are actual people that have experience and know how to do this, can we get some of them?

  3. That’s our RB right there,l. Or at least the one who was supposed to be. The other one just touched down in Atalanta a couple of days ago .

  4. I dont understand this transfer. As we dont have problems in our defense. They sold one of the best player there was.. and who took his place !!!!!!

We have to understand that all Milan great squads. They all started with having the best defense in Italy. With just attackers we are not going to win. We need a real solid CB.
