TMW: Agents at work on Paqueta-Bernardeschi swap deal – all parties want deal done

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Juventus are working on to complete a swap deal involving Lucas Paqueta and Federico Bernardeschi, according to a report.

Paqueta’s future at Milan is under serious doubt. Sky confirmed that the 22-year-old had tests carried out for a mild anxiety attack after the win against Udinese, and asked not to be called up for Friday’s win over Brescia.

Di Marzio then stated on Friday night that the Paquetà-Bernardeschi exchange is actually more than just paper talk, describing it as “a possible option”.

However, when speaking to Sky before their game against Napoli, Juve director Fabio Paratici essentially took Bernardeschi off the market.

According to TMW, Milan would welcome Bernardeschi, something intermediaries and the Italian’s entourage are already aware of. Stefano Pioli would have an external role ready for him in 4-4-2, capable also of playing behind the strikers and in the trident.

Milan like Bernardeschi and on the other side Paquetà is a welcome solution for Juventus. The Bianconeri believe they have a tactical gap in the role, with Aaron Ramsey still struggling to be 100%.

The problem, however, is that the accounts do not return because Juve are asking for cash as well, as they value Bernardeschi higher than Paqueta, something which Boban and Maldini apparently agree with.

Agents and intermediaries however are at work, the report concludes.
