TMW: Midfielder to stay at Atalanta but clause makes Milan a constant option

When Milan signed Andrea Conti back in the summer of 2017, they agreed to send Matteo Pessina the other way. The midfielder has since become a very good midfielder, now aged 24, and remains a market option for the Rossoneri.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Pessina is likely to remain at Atalanta for next season as head coach Gian Piero Gasperini really likes him. And for the time being, the midfielder is focused on the Euros as he’s part of the Italy squad.

Having said that, Milan included a 50% resale clause back in 2017, meaning that they could get Pessina for half the price if they were to sign him. This makes the Rossoneri a constant option on the market.

Indeed, it’s a factor that shouldn’t be overlooked although Atalanta want to keep the player for next season as well. It remains to be seen if Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will make an attempt to sign the youngster in the future.
