Federico Chiesa hasn’t been a huge success for Liverpool thus far, joining them in the summer, and he has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A. According to a report, he has also been offered to AC Milan.

Chiesa left Juventus in the summer and joined Liverpool for €12m, hoping to show his qualities in the Premier League. So far, however, it hasn’t been much of a success with four appearances, zero goals and injury struggles.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the situation is being evaluated by Chiesa’s entourage and his services have been offered to Milan, along with a few other Italian clubs. For now, though, the Rossoneri don’t seem to be interested as a very cold response was delivered.

Per the latest reports, Milan are eyeing up Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford instead and it seems a dry loan could be possible. Chiesa is also quite versatile, but Rashford has the advantage of being able to play in the No.9 role as well as on both flanks.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Chiesa but it’s clear that the Premier League adventure hasn’t benefitted his career so far. Of course, the injury struggles haven’t made things easy so if he can stay fit, he might make an impact.

      1. If Milan would bring Chiesa that dosen’t mean that they have to pay the full salary and What you wrote about Chiesa is exactly what som of the fanbase said about Pulisic. I was against bringing Chiesa under Fonseca because I thought he would struggle but under Conceicao I think he would bring out the best of Chiesa.
Chiesa have a high work rate that Conceicao appreciate.
With Chiesa and Morata doing most of the pressing would give Leao and Pulisic more space.

        1. are you high? Pulisic was 24 when he came here and he was coming from a team that was struggling that season, before that season he was instrumental in getting Chlesea a CL trophy

Wtf has Chiesa done since 2021? and he is pushing 27 now and has played like 3 games ALL SEASON

How is this even comparable to Pulisic transfer

    1. He needs to lower his salary to 2mio + performance + availability bonus… and if we can get him for less than 12 mio it would be a good deal…

  1. Too expensive. And injury prone. Unfortunately. We will see what will happen with Chuku in near future.
It is obvious that they don’t count on Okafor so strong like before.

  2. A loan for chiesa to me carries similar risk / costs to rashford. Both players are underperformed on large wages.

But to me the upside of chiesa is much higher, imho rashfords true ability/ form is not impressive.

We should probably sign neither but if I had to pick, an Italian with familiarity with serie A, language and who wants to get back into the Azzurri setup, would be better than Rashford

    1. Agree. Despite the fact he can’t play up front I think on balance I’d take Chiesa. He’s Italian, knows the league and doesn’t get home at 5am every night.

      1. He but what is Chiesa after his ACL? he’s no longer a winger, as he doesn’t have that pace anymore. nOt much of a dribbler… A striker? Well, no…. He doesn’t have a defined position anymore until he rediscovers himself…

I get the romance of it, an Italian and all. But in practicality …

  3. There is such a shame that ACM never realy turned to Chiesa.Itaian boy, both sides winger, quite good, very useful.12 Mil. for a guy like him is a bargain.I would always pick him over overrated Rushford with huge salary(even bank pusher),no doubt. There is probably more then we know about Chiesa and his relations inside Serie A.So sorry about that

    1. Would you pay 12 mil for a player who doesn’t play???

It takes at least 6 months or a year to go back to ‘old’ Chiesa from Euro 2021

He may never be that Chiesa as well.

    2. Im chiesa admirer, but now its too late for him joining us. He should choose us over juve few years ago from la viola. Now, we dont want anymore player who’s not only become bench warmer but also a regular client of Milan Lab

    1. Jim if you are gonna accuse people of making up stuff with some sm@rt@ss reply then you probably should know what you are talking about a bit better as this is his full career stats of the positions he has played throughout his career.

Matches played – Goals scored – Assists made.

      Left Winger 222 69 36
      Centre-Forward 152 59 20
      Right Winger 50 13 7
      Attacking Midfield 3 – –
      Second Striker 2 2 –
      Left Midfield 1 – –
      Right Midfield 1

      1. Strongly dislike the idea of Rashford, he is a rotten apple who throws hissyfits when he dont get to play his favorite position and dont get to play all the time.

He have clearly indicated this the last few years even if he have been versitile earlier in his career

        1. He could be at crossroad and he is still better than Okafor and Chukwueze. Pretty much has the same g/a contribution pr. minute played as Leao this season.

  4. Rashford is more versatile and less injury prone. If he can reach his highest level, Rashford is far more productive.than Chiesa. He can score double digits every season if he gets going. Even this season he did that, despite not playing much and being on a bad United team.

Rashford should be an easy pick here, and people are totally romanticising Chiesa because he is Italian…

  5. So do all these thoughts change now that he’s got on the scoring sheet? He has something. Let’s give him time and pray he stays fit. Decent showing overall.

  6. Chiesa is an enigma, on his day he is unplayable but those days are far in between. He also hasnt looked the same since his ACL injury and earns 7-8m pa. He makes more sense than Rashford but I dont think either are worth a long-term investment. Take him on a dry loan with option to make perm, if he does well and the price is right we can do a deal otherwise just bring back Salamaekers next year.
