AC Milan are ready to meet with the agent of Suso to discuss a contract renewal for the Spaniard, a report claims.

There were doubts over Suso’s future at the club amid reported interest from Roma, Lyon and Fiorentina and doubts over whether he could adapt to Marco Giampaolo’s 4-3-1-2 system.

However, the 25-year-old has impressed in preseason, playing in behind the front two and scoring a couple of goals in the process.

It has been reported in the media recently that Milan have decided to keep Suso and will turn their attentions to renewing his deal once the mercato ends.

Now, a report from TMW (via MilanNews.it) claims that the player’s representative – Alessandro Lucci – will meet with the Rossoneri in September to discuss a new contract.

Suso has been reassured that he is central to the project and will not leave the club, and it is possible a new deal could see his current €40m release clause either raised or scrapped altogether.
