Tonali says Udinese clash will be ‘difficult’ but Milan have ‘the desire to win’

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of tonight’s clash between AC Milan and Udinese, Sandro Tonali spoke to the media about the Rossoneri’s task at hand. After the draw against Salernitana, they need to bounce back with a win.

Tonali started on the bench last time out and is thus well-rested for tonight’s clash, replacing Rade Krunic in the midfield. He will partner up with Ismael Bennacer and Milan are hoping that both can shine again.

Speaking to MilanTV, as cited by MilanNews, Tonali shared his thoughts on tonight’s clash and stated that it won’t be easy. He stated that they want to head into the national break with a positive energy.

“It will be a difficult match, as always against Udinese. Everything we have must be put on the field. We have to be 100% concentrated throughout the game. The desire to win again is great and we need to start tonight.

“The approach will be fundamental. We know we have the qualities to play a game like Milan. There is still a lot of time left before the Champions… every match is important. Already tonight we could go into the break more relaxed with a victory.”

“Ibra? It’s essential that he’s 100% involved in our game. He’s still a talent, he still has a lot of quality, and he can help us tonight. He deserves the captain’s armband because he hasn’t been around for too long, we needed him and he needed us.”

Milan need all the points they can get as the Champions League race remains incredibly tight. In many ways, they simply cannot afford to lose tonight’s clash as it would be a huge blow to the standings as well as the confidence.
