Tuttosport: Belotti fades as a target for Milan with Roma now in pole position – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan appear to have gone cold on the potential of signing Andrea Belotti in order to focus on a different target, a report claims.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanLive) focuses on the future of Belotti and suggests that Roma are now the most likely destination for the Italian striker, given that new boss Jose Mourinho wants a new striker and is a big admirer of il Gallo.

Roma are ready to move for Belotti as a result and despite the rumours of strong competition from Milan, the Giallorossi appear to be on pole because the Rossoneri management to have moved away from the track that leads to Belotti and are instead in talks over another striker.

Maldini and Massara believe that Giroud is the right profile, and the French striker just last night won the Champions League with Chelsea. His contract is about to expire and he is no longer part of the plans of Tuchel. Negotiations are underway between Milan and his entourage.

  1. How are we getting beat by Roma??? What is it with this small club mentality. Our number one issue was squad depth. And it looks like we will have even less players next season

  2. I hope milan management realize that buying 20 years old players doesn’t make Milan great but only makes milan a club that will beg players to sign extension before leaving for bigger club. And buying 34+ years old players is just a temporary solution making Europa league qualification the only real goal

  3. Poor milan. Champion league qualification will throw Milans fan off and dont realize the real problems. Below average players and if someone has potential he doesn’t renew his contract and leave for free for bigger club. No future for Milan

  4. Belotti is strong, a finisher, has good tactical build up play, holds ball perfectly at his feet, and tracks back defensively. What more of a striker is Milan looking for. I prefer Belotti to Giroud. He even has more age on his side and has played on Serie A enough to fit into milan squad.

  5. We are getting them both, oh common, Giroud will just be signed as a very capable backup.
No Vlahovic, then Belotti is a must.
It will be suicidal to go into the Champions League with Ibrahimovic and Giroud, we have seen that Ibra isn’t guaranteed fitness anymore.
    The management knows this.
