Tuttosport: Details emerge on Ibrahimovic’s salary at Milan – linked to appearances

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the rest of the season due to his knee injury and has also been forced to turn down the opportunity to play with Sweden at the Euros. A big blow for the Swede, of course.

Ibrahimovic recently signed a contract renewal with Milan which will keep him at the club for one more season. Therefore, the Rossoneri were a bit worried about the injury, but the update is good news for them as no surgery is needed.

As reported by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the 39-year-old will only earn €7m per year (in the new deal) if series of achievements are reached. That includes official appearances, protecting Milan from further injury struggles.

We can only hope that Ibrahimovic will be fit for most of next season, not only because of his importance on the pitch, but also because he can prepare his apprentice; whoever that will be.
