Tuttosport: Diaz celebrates Milan return with inspired display worthy of the No.10

By Isak Möller -

Brahim Diaz is back at Milan and featured in their friendly game against Modena yesterday evening, showing exactly why the Rossoneri brought him back. Indeed, it was a promising ‘first’ display.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), it took the Spaniard just five minutes to show that he can be important next season. The opponents weren’t the best, but the performance shouldn’t be dismissed because of that.

Just like the season finale, when Stefano Pioli deployed him with greater insistence, the new No.10 responded on the pitch. A goal and an assist crowned his performance yesterday and he also had several nice plays.

It’s clear that the Real Madrid-owned playmaker wants a spot in the starting eleven this season and he might get it. With Milan competing in three competitions, there is no doubt that he will get a good amount of playing time.

  1. His performances, potential and shirt number are the three reasons I don’t buy the Vlasic rumors. I assume any big money deal this summer will be for a proper attacking right wing.

I buy the Ilicic — or reasonable facsimile — rumors as it’s solid depth and a reasonable change of pace.

Am still cross we couldn’t pull off Chiesa last summer as that would have more or less completed this squad.
