Tuttosport: The figure that would make Milan consider selling De Ketelaere

By Oliver Fisher -

It seems as though there are only two options on the table when it comes to the future of Charles De Ketelaere, with a loan switch not one of them.

According to what is being reported this morning by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), there are two potential paths for De Ketelaere’s future. Either the player will remain at Milan with the hope that he can recover after a tough first season, or he could be sold.

Given that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara invested over €30m to sign him from Club Brugge under a year ago, they would not consider selling for less than €27-28m so as not to record a loss on the balance sheet.

The hope is that the 22-year-old will be able to carry out adequate athletic preparation from the first day of training camp as opposed to last summer when he joined late, and thus have a second season resurgence like Rafael Leao and Sandro Tonali had.

We picked out some of the positive signs in a feature yesterday, including how he should have potentially had as many as five more assists.

  1. If we get good rotation next season, if Kamada become leader, and new striker scores more than 10 goals, De Ketelaere can be used more minutes despite his achievements on the pitch. He would gain some experience and in 2 season he could become much better player.

      1. He is not wrong. CDK does plays like trequartista. Weak, does not pressure, wait for ball to come to feet. tahts why we are having problem with CDK

CDK will become world class player, but not with Milan formation right now. Either sell CDK, or adjust the system

  2. Nobody will buy him even 20m. Relax bro Maldini & co. just give him time to breath and to find himself on the pitch.

    1. This is the fact. He has all the skills needed to be successful in CAM/RW/ST. He just needs to get his psychological strength. Hope the U-21 call does it for him.
