Tuttosport: Ibrahimovic eyes comeback for Milan-Verona amid likely farewell

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has more or less been ruled out for the rest of the season with a calf injury, but the Swede hasn’t given up just yet. In fact, he wants to be there for AC Milan’s game against Hellas Verona.

While warming up on the sidelines during Milan-Lecce, Ibrahimovic felt a pain in his calf and tests later revealed a ‘lesion to the medial twin muscle of the right calf’. An injury that would be a season-ender for most.

However, as reported by Tuttosport (via MilanLive), Ibrahimovic hasn’t given up and is doing everything he can to accelerate his recovery. Of course, given his age, this is a very difficult task but the striker wants to be back for Milan-Hellas Verona on June 4th (the final game of the season).

It’s a game that will mean a lot to him as a departure at the end of the season appears very likely indeed. Even if just for a few minutes, making an appearance would create a nice memory not just for him but also for the Milan fans.
