Tuttosport: Ibrahimovic steers ship as Milan need to secure Champions League

By Isak Möller -

Since he arrived back in January of last year, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a crucial player for Milan, not just on the pitch. His leadership and experience have taken Milan to new heights, now a final push is needed.

As pointed out by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Ibrahimovic quickly made the intentions clear after the elimination from Europa League, showing his greatness. After the Marco Giampaolo-debacle, the team was looking for a guide and a leader.

It’s safe to say, with the Swede’s arrival, that they found the perfect one. Young and older players have had daily stimulus to nurture on and this has been seen on the pitch. Now, with a crucial phase ahead, Ibrahimovic will have to take everything on his shoulders.

Without the striker, after managing in the first parts of his injury, Milan have stopped playing and they need to regain their form to keep a top-four spot. Ibrahimovic will start against Fiorentina tomorrow, where he was stopped by VAR last season.

It was one of his best goals in his career, but this will only fuel him to do even better, and Milan need that. After all, the Champions League race will have be commanded by him, the main leader of the team.
