Tuttosport: Kessie remains a key player amid exit rumours – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Franck Kessie continues to be linked with a departure from AC Milan, dividing the fanbase in recent years with regards to his performances. Certainly, in the last transfer windows, his exit has seemed very plausible.

The reality, however, is very different. As pointed out by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it), the midfielder is one of Milan’s best players. He was a starter with Vincenzo Montella, Gennaro Gattuso and then Marco Giampaolo.

Under the guidance Stefano Pioli, the theme has continued for Kessie, as he’s a player that the manager appreciates a lot. Recently, he tested negative for the Coronavirus twice which means he can return to training with his teammates.

Ahead of the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Juventus, this is certainly good news for Pioli. It will be the Rossoneri’s first game since the stop and as the first leg ended 1-1, it will be a tough challenge at the Allianz Stadium.

Two weeks of training should be enough for the Ivorian to regain his condition and who knows, maybe this summer he will leave the club, having attracted interest from the Premier League. However, it’s too early to think about this.
