Tuttosport: Midfield battle emerges amid expected No.10 change for Milan-Bologna

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli and his Milan will take on Bologna in the 31st round of Serie A this evening. It’s a very important game and thus careful evaluations have been made for the starting XI, which isn’t 100% certain yet.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Pioli is expected to field Brahim Diaz from the first minute in the attacking midfielder role. The Spaniard remained at Milanello during the break and has been able to regain energy, which seemingly has helped.

And with this change to the attacking trio, a battle in midfield has emerged. Sandro Tonali is the only certainty in the tandem, per the newspaper, while Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie will be battling it out for the last spot.

Bennacer has done really well lately, scoring the winner against Cagliari, and benching him tonight remains very unlikely. Kessie is heading towards the bench, therefore, but will be ready to enter the game.
