Tuttosport: Milan CEO Gazidis considers possibility Pioli-Rangnick partnership

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis is reflecting on the idea of Stefano Pioli and Ralf Rangnick working together in tandem, according to a shock report.

Speculation has been rife in the media over the last few weeks claiming that the German is set to take a role at Milan which would be unprecedented in Italian football, as he would become both the head coach and sporting director.

Denials have arrived from both Rangnick and his agent – as well as from inside Casa Milan – regarding the existence of a pre-agreement, while the respected Christian Falk claimed that talks ‘were not successful’ between the two parties earlier today.

However, Tuttosport have always maintained their stance that Rangnick is Milan-bound. They have even gone one further on Wednesday though, as the paper reports (via MilanNews) that the idea of Stefano Pioli working alongside the 61-year-old is not out of the question and is in face being considered by Gazidis.

The former RB Leipzig head coach would certainly have control of the market, but there is a respect from Gazidis for the work Pioli has done in helping the team recover this season, so there is a chance he could stay on.
