Since Elliott took over the club back in 2018, Milan have made several smart investments on the transfer market. Theo Hernandez is one example, Ismael Bennacer is another, both signed in the summer of 2019.
The Rossoneri continued their impressive work in January of 2020, bringing in Simon Kjaer for just €3m and Alexis Saelemaekers for €7m. Then in the summer, they managed to beat the competition and snatch Pierre Kalulu for free from Lyon.
As highlighted by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan are delighted with this and especially with Saelemaekers, who arrived from Anderlecht. The 21-year-old is an undisputed starter in Stefano Pioli’s side, occupying the right flank in the attacking trio.
And the €7m investment that the Rossoneri made turned out to be a real bargain, as Saelemaekers’ worth has tripled with a current price tag of €20m+. In short, a perfect deal for the Rossoneri who are focusing on many young players.
