Simon Kjaer is a key player for Milan and he could become the captain of the team next season. Alessio Romagnoli is the man for now, but he’s expected to be on the bench and could also leave this summer.
The likes of Davide Calabria and Franck Kessie have also been mentioned as candidates for the captain’s armband. Whoever gets it, it’s clear that these players are extremely important for the Rossoneri.
Kjaer’s contract will expire in one year, as will Kessie’s, and Milan are working on the renewals of both. According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will meet the Dane’s agent Mikkel Beck in the next few days.
The feeling is that both parties want to continue together and that there won’t be any issues with the renewal. As for Kessie, the situation is tougher but Milan are willing to meet the demands of the player.
