Half-way through the season, reinforcing the squad isn’t the only objective for Milan, as they also have to deal with the renewals. Hakan Calhanoglu and Gigio Donnarumma could both leave for free this summer.
In today’s edition of Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, we can read about Donnarumma’s situation (read about Hakan here). In theory, he could sign as a free agent with another club, but this won’t happen as he wants to stay at Milan.
The Rossoneri acknowledge that the goalkeeper is one of the best in the world and are thus willing to offer €7.5m plus bonuses. Mino Raiola, Donnarumma’s agent, wants the fixed part to be a bit higher but this isn’t the biggest issue.
There is still distance on the release clause, which Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara in a best-case scenario would like to avoid. Raiola, on the other hand, wants it to be very low in case Milan don’t qualify for the Champions League.
