By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s squad could an even greater French component by the end of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how in the early 1990s it was the Milan of the Dutch with Rijkaard, Gullit and Van Basten, then there was that of the Brazilians with Kakà, Ronaldo, Leonardo, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Rivaldo, Pato, Thiago Silva, Cafu, Serginho and Dida.

Now, it is the flag of the World Champions France that could be hoisted above Milanello, because under chief scout Geoffrey Moncada the Rossoneri are looking more and more to Ligue 1 and French football to try and build their squad.

Currently, there are already three transalpine players in Theo Hernandez, Pierre Kalulu and Mike Maignan, who arrived in this transfer window to replace Gigio Donnarumma. Olivier Giroud is Milan’s first goal to reinforce the attack and Toulouse’s Amine Adli is a player also attracting interest, so it could rise to five.

Then there are the rumours of a possible return for midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko from Chelsea, a player who would gladly return to the club, and finally Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara is also in the crosshairs of the Rossoneri management. Three could soon become seven, therefore.
