Tuttosport: Forward duo disappoint again during Milan’s win over Lecce

By Oliver Fisher -

The game against Lecce provided another opportunity for Ante Rebic and Divock Origi to show they should still have a role in AC Milan’s plans, but they again disappointed.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how Olivier Giroud was kept out as a precaution after struggling with a tendon problem, so Stefano Pioli deployed Rebic as centre-forward from the first minute.

However, once again the Croatian was not convincing at all in his performance, which was not disastrous but was far from impressive as he really struggled to get into the game against a side defending deep.

Origi also came on in the second half but he too didn’t impress, which means the bad period that he has been going through for several months now continues.

Given that there have been stories from several sources suggesting both could be sold in the summer, reassuring signs have not arrived and the games are running out.
