Renato Sanches has been linked with a move to AC Miln ever since the January window and at the start of June, it seemed an agreement was in place. However, then Paris Saint-Germain entered the picture and everything changed.
As was reported by Gianluca Di Marzio last night, which you can read here, Milan are expected to make a new attempt for Sanches as PSG have taken a step back in the race. The reality, however, is that they perhaps never were interested.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), PSG’s interest was simply a smokescreen that benefitted both them and Lille. PSG were able to use the Sanches option in other negotiations, threatening to drop them, while Lille are now squeezing more out of Milan.
It remains to be seen what the outcome of the negotiations will be, but it’s clear that the Rossoneri are still interested in Sanches. Only at the right figures will they close a deal, though, since they also have other options.

Milan can say that we can get Sanches for 18 mill, why should we pay 25-30 mill for someone else like CDK or Ziyech…
It’s all very simple, right now for the CM/AM position (assuming that’s where Sanches will be used) we have Tonali, Bennacer, Pobega, Adli, Krunic, Diaz … + Bakayoko.
It’s 6-7 players for 3 spots, if we get Sanches someone has to be sold/let go in addition to Bakayoko.
CDK is different since due to his age, he doesn’t have to be included in the lists for this year only.

Milan has been after Renato for a while. They agreed terms with Lille to bring him in January but couldn’t agree on personal terms with his agent.
And out of all the players you listed for the midfield, only Tonali has a guaranteed spot. Renato is better than the rest of them and can play in all positions between the defense and the striker.
Bennacer sale isn’t excluded, he still hasn’t renewed his contract and Renato is actually a Bennacer upgrade not a Kessie’s replacement.
Renato dont have same défensive skill as Bennacer only offensive. Never à comparison both are différent players.
