Tuttosport: Rangnick approves permanent signing of Belgian youngster at Milan

Arriving in January, Alexis Saelemaekers has played just 32 minutes for AC Milan due to the Coronavirus crisis. In spite of this, it seems that the Rossoneri will redeem the youngster this summer.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it), it will be an investment of €6.5m in total. Milan paid €3.5m in January for the loan and agreed with Anderlecht to set the buy-out clause at €3m.

The deal would only turn into an obligation in the event of Champions League qualification, which is out of reach for Stefano Pioli’s side. Even so, it looks like the versatile Belgian – who can play anywhere on the right flank – will stay.

Ivan Gazidis, the CEO of Milan, has already discussed the 20-year-old with Ralf Rangnick and the German manager approved the signing. Despite little playing time, he has demonstrated personality, character and quality.

As mentioned, he’s also a versatile player. Starting out as a right-back, he can also play as a winger or on the other flank, since he’s quite good with his left foot as well.
