As has been suggested in recent days, Ralf Rangnick will most likely be the new manager of AC Milan. According to Tuttosport (via Milanlive.it), Ivan Gazidis wants to repeat the ‘Arsenal model’.
The German, per the newspaper, wouldn’t a be a simple manager. Between 2016 and 2019, he was both the manager and sporting director of RB Leipzig, bringing them from all the way from Bundesliga 2 to the Champions League.
Rangnick is, therefore, an all-round manager. For Gazidis, he is the perfect candidate to launch the ‘Arsenal model’ at Milan, acting as a manager and guide of the technical area just like Arsene Wenger did for 22 years.
This has always been the plan of Gazidis, bringing back the Gunners model but this time at the Rossoneri. However, it wasn’t signed off by Paolo Maldini and Zvone Boban, who now are expected to leave the club in the summer and thus pave the way.
