Tuttosport: Significant effort needed from Milan to renew midfield star’s contract

By Isak Möller -

Franck Kessie is a very important player for AC Milan and as his contract will expire next summer, the Rossoneri are very keen on renewing his deal. Having said that, the negotiations are very tough.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Kessie has made it clear that he wants to remain at the club and there is optimism in that sense. Indeed, the situation is more relaxed than it was just a few months ago.

The midfielder has asked for a salary of €7m per year and it’s unlikely that an agreement will be reached before the transfer window closes. In light of Kessie’s will, though, that is far from a disaster and the relations are good.

However, it’s also clear that losing the former Atalanta man for free would be a huge disaster for Milan. The negotiations must be accelerated and a significant effort is needed, perhaps with an offer of €6m plus easily reached bonuses.

  1. No need to exaggerate, he will leave for free next summer & we will move on.

Doesn’t look like he wants to stay, as he is fully aware that the club has a salary cap of 5m & no player will or should get more, aside from Mr.Ibrahimovic.

    Good riddance.

  2. Add Kessie and Romagnoli to the list with Donnaruma and Hakan of getting ZERO dollars in transfer fees….what a fkn disaster
