Hakan Calhanoglu has been one of the best players in Serie A in the post-lockdown period, finally showing his qualities with Milan. However, his future with the club is far from certain, currently in doubt.
As reported by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it), the gap between Calhanoglu’s request and Milan’s offer is still very wide. With little time to work with, this has raised a few concerns as he could leave for free in the summer.
The negotiations are ongoing, but should the parties fail to reach an agreement, then the No.10 could negotiate with other clubs in January. So what is the request, you might ask: the midfielder’s agent has asked for €7m per year.
Considering that the Milan directors are working to lower the wage bill, the request doesn’t exactly fit their policy. The coming months will be crucial to understand where the parties stand and if the Rossoneri will need a replacement.
