Tuttosport: Thiago Silva calls Milan amid expiring contract – ‘Do you want me back?’

By Isak Möller -

Is another great return on the horizon for AC Milan after Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Thiago Silva, who left for PSG in 2012 along with the Swedish striker, reportedly wants to return to the San Siro side.

‘Milan, do you want me back?’, today’s edition of Tuttosport reads (as cited by Calciomercato.com), referring to the Brazilian defender whose contract will expire at the end of the season.

Thiago has never hidden his love for the club and the Rossoneri haven’t closed the door to a possible return ‘home’. And now that his adventure at PSG is coming to an end, the rumours have gathered more steam.

Per the newspaper, the Brazilian’s agent has offered him to Milan on a free transfer. The ball is this in the court of CEO Ivan Gazidis, but two main factors are against the return of the 35-year-old.

First, Thiago would have to accept a heavy wage cut, considering that he currently earns around €12m per year. Furthermore, his age isn’t in line with the new youth project, which will be led by Ralf Rangnick.
